Using Insurance
We are a non-participating provider with most commercial payers. What that means is that payment is made at time of service and then you can submit your claim for reimbursement where covered under your out-of-network benefits. Due to the nature of our unique methods, strict insurance limitations, and poor reimbursement rates, we are currently unable to accept insurance directly. However, for commercial insurance plans, we make it easy to take advantage of your out-of-network benefits.
This means that:
- You do get the treatment you need, not what the insurance company thinks you need
- You don't have to get a referral before getting treatment
- You don't have interruptions in service waiting on insurance companies
- You don't have to do as much paperwork
- You don't get a complex surprise bill, we make the cost simple, clear, and easy
Please note that government payers such as Medicare, VA, Medicaid, and Tricare do not provide any reimbursement for the our services. If you would like to use your Medicare, VA, or Tricare benefits let us know and we can direct you to a clinician that provides standard physical therapy services that are covered.
We want to help our community move and feel better. If you have concerns about payment please let us know.
Why is our treatment not in-network?
Traditional physical therapy focuses heavily on exercise to improve range of motion and strengthen muscles. While this approach helps many people, it often falls short—especially when deeper, more specific dysfunctions are involved. Insurance companies expect this standardized model from in-network providers, which limits the kind of care they’re willing to cover.
At Realize Physical Therapy, we take a different approach.
Our method identifies the underlying reasons why movement is restricted or why muscles aren’t activating properly. When we treat a region, the goal is for that treatment to be effective in one session—with lasting results. Each visit builds on the last, meaning you need fewer appointments, saving you time and money.
However, this hands-on, precision-based care isn’t fully supported by insurance.
- Manual therapy is only covered short-term. Insurers often deny claims after a few visits, regardless of progress.
- Visceral manipulation and other advanced techniques we use aren’t covered by Medicare or many commercial plans.
- Government programs like Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and Tricare don’t allow us to provide covered benefits at all.
Because of these limitations, we operate as an out-of-network provider for commercial insurance. This allows us to deliver the care you truly need—without compromising effectiveness or philosophy
